Established in 1980 Chercher La Femme has built a reputation for creating timeless classics with a romantic twist. Designer Colleen Smythe’s approach is to create clothes which have integrity and a quality of design that is highly useful all the while resisting the vagaries of passing “fast” fashion. The aim is to put a modern, youthful stamp on old-fashioned elegance.
“New Vintage” best describes the end product.
Our philosophy:
Design, quality and utility are our three core brand values. We pride ourselves on our use of 100% natural and sustainable fabrics, linen, silk and cotton, all prewashed, no dry cleaning required. Everything is manufactured locally one garment at a time with a great respect for tradition and craftsmanship, for beauty born of utility. Proudly made in Australia since 1980.
